Our Child Welfare Counseling services provide therapeutic intervention for youth and parents involved in the child welfare system in foster care, intact families, or adoption situations. Therapists provide counseling that supports the well-being of children and the success of families by building on their strengths, acknowledging the impact of trauma, and working collaboratively to set and achieve realistic and individualized goals. Therapists meet with clients at various office locations as well as in the community, and work a flexible schedule that includes some evening hours.
Therapist responsibilities include:
Provide individualized assessment, diagnosis, and comprehensive treatment planning for children and families.
Provide therapeutic interventions to address the needs of each child and family.
Monitor progress toward clients’ goals and objectives and make recommendations for on-going services when necessary.
Coordinate services with other agencies, systems, and community providers to meet the needs of clients.
Refer clients to other community resources, as needed.
Develop aftercare service/treatment plans with the client and ensure that any recommended services or providers are in place prior to client’s discharge.
Comply with Medicaid standards of practice and documentation.
Master’s degree in social work or related field.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
Clinical licensure in candidate’s field (i.e. LCSW, LCPC) or ability to become licensed within two years of employment required.
Experience with Behavioral Health Medicaid billing preferred.
Additional specialized training (Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Domestic Violence, DBT, or PCIT) a plus.
A valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation required.
