Basic Functions The Young Adult Engagement Coordinator in the Office of Young Adult Engagement (YAE) supports the strategy and successful development and execution of archdiocesan and vicariate level programs. The Coordinator helps ensure that all programs support the objectives of Renew My Church and works in close collaboration with the Office of Evangelization, the Office of Lifelong Formation and the Vicariate Coordinators. The Coordinator partners with the priests and ministers serving the Young Adult community. The Coordinator coordinates the work of the team as well as develops and sustains relationship with Young Adult groups, and other stakeholders necessary to strengthen communities of faith and society at large. Their work aligns with best practices from national organizations and complies with the USCCB guidelines on matters of Young Adult ministry and evangelization. This role supports the engagement and faith of the Young Adult community within the Archdiocese of Chicago; designs, develops and delivers programs; and promotes national and local Young Adult events.

*Develops and executes Young Adult programs and services.
*Helps with the Archdiocesan and Vicariate outreach and engagement programs for the young adult community.
*Provides support and planning assistance to Young Adult organizations on the campuses of Catholic colleges and universities in order to respond to Young Adult issues among the student body.
*Develops relationships with university officials and campus ministry centers and health centers; works to help ensure campus health care is consistent with the Catholic faith.
*Coordinates with the Vocation Office and USML in supporting the vocation and formation outreach.
*Reviews and recommends educational materials and other resources for college and young adult outreach.
*Collaborates with other offices within the Department of Parish Vitality and Mission.
*Complies with all Archdiocesan policies and regulations.
*Increases skills and knowledge through continuing education and reading appropriate literature.
*May be given other assignments and projects consistent with the responsibility level of this position.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in related field with preference for a Master's Degree in Theology or degree with an emphasis in Ministry or Theology
2+ years of experience in active ministry or team leadership, with a preference for proven professional experience in the field of Youth and Young Adult educational outreach, ministry and advocacy
Fully committed to the Catholic Church’s teaching on the Gospel of Life
Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people including university officials, college students and persons with varied social, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel and Power Point.
Working knowledge of social media, general marketing strategies and instructional design techniques preferred
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail
Must demonstrate understanding, respect and support for all Catholic Church teaching, mission and values
Must have availability for overtime, evening or weekend work.
