2 Year Degree
Provides employment support services to refugees from various regions of the world during their period of adaptation to the United States. Completes face to face visits and assesses with client their employment goals by reviewing their work history within first ten days of arrival.
Completes comprehensive family employment assessment, client contract, and creates a client service plan. Identifies the client's strengths and weaknesses and creates a resume with each client.
Schedules, prepares for and teaches job readiness classes.
Tracks employable client’s attendance at job readiness classes and identifies any obstacles to attendance and employability for job placement. Ensures client's schedule of attendance at job club and employment meetings are met as required.
Refers client to training programs and employment opportunities which support client's efforts to increase skills and knowledge in order to promote self-sufficiency. Transports clients to job interviews and job related appointments as needed.
Maintain client files according to agency and funder guidelines.
Supports clients in job retention and reports on 90 day retention of job for all clients.
Networks with community groups and other external employment and job training resources as well as internal sources in order to increase employer partners.
Foreign language Proficiency to meet the current needs of the program.
May be required to work beyond normal business hours to meet the needs of clients.
Preferred Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Social Work. Three years of experience in Social Services or job development
Minimum Requirements: Associate’s degree. One year of experience in Social Services or job development
Other Requirements: Driver’s license and reliable transportation. Foreign language.
