The mission of Our Place of New Trier is to support teens and adults with developmental disabilities so that they can live meaningful, productive, socially connected lives in their home community. We are seeking a professional, dynamic and highly organized individual to fill our Program Manager position:
Responsible for defining the strategic direction of the programs which serve participants.
Determine the program priorities based on input from families and the goals set by/for the participants
Create and implement program evaluation criteria and methods to assess the program outcomes; insure criteria are communicated and documented
Create and implement evaluation criteria and methods to insure participants’ progress is captured, documented and communicated to families
Investigate new program models and link them to funding sources
Work closely with the Behavioral Consultant to initiate behavior plans for selected participants and train the staff to implement and evaluate them; implement improved and proven methods and techniques to increase staff effectiveness with participants.
Responsible for creating the program plan for each session and completing participant registration for the session.
Ensure programs are conducted according to the program manual outlines.
Ensure program manual contents are up to date
Review and revise program goals and guidelines for conducting the program as needed
Create new programs to meet participant needs and interests
Work closely with the staff member responsible for volunteer management to insure volunteers are trained properly, evaluated regularly and appropriately utilized.
Participants and families
Plan and conduct regular participant and family meetings to set individual goals and report progress
Ensure that participant goals are being regularly evaluated across programs and among staff members; ensure proper records are kept
Assign a staff mentor to each participant and oversee the relationship to make sure it is successful
Act as primary contact for family communications on participant matters.
Update and insure usage of participant information manuals in each OP location
Act as primary contact for families seeking information about Our Place
Arrange for Our Place introductory tour for interested families
Work with families to complete the intake packet and intake interview
Plan and schedule initial orientation period for the new participant; assess and communicate results to families
Manage the relationship and activities of the local high school transition programs to identify and assist students who might be interested in joining Our Place
Supervise all staff who are involved in conducting programs.
Participate in hiring interviews and decisions; provide formal and informal performance feedback on an ongoing basis, do semiannual and annual performance appraisals.
Ensure all program staff have what they need to implement the programs successfully
Observe and evaluate program implementation expertise and skills on a regular basis
Prepare and communicate the weekly staff schedule; rebalance assignments as needed
Ensure staff are trained in first aid/CPR and CPI
The Program Manager reports to the Executive Director and confers with her on the development and implementation of strategies and key personnel decisions.
The Program Manager is responsible for the supervision of the full and part time program leader staff (10 persons).
