Position Description: Provides curriculum based education and support groups around the issues of violence prevention and building healthy relationships at the variety of elementary, middle, high school sites, and community based organizations in YWCA’s Evanston/North Shore target area.
Violence Prevention Education (95%):
Implements the Building Healthy Relationships programs in the elementary, middle and high schools, as well as community based organizations.
Functions as a representative of YWCA Evanston/North Shore in schools and with community organizations.
Works closely with schools social workers and other school and agency personnel.
Completes and submits in timely fashion all necessary documentation. Prepares reports as needed to comply with funding requirements.
Provides support to the Violence Prevention Education and Outreach Coordinator.
Other Responsibilities (5%):
Assists in the 40-hour domestic violence training.
Pursues professional development.
Understands and adheres to all of YWCA Evanston/North Shore procedures and policies as well as YWCA Employee Handbook.

Minimum Bachelors Degree in education or related field; must have experience working with youth in a group setting; ability to work with students and school staff. Must have a car and be able to travel to schools. 40-hour domestic violence and 20-hour sexual assault training preferred.
