Under the supervision of the Network Administrator, the hired person will perform highly specialized and specific training, education and in-servicing for the Perinatal Network Hospitals. Work Shift: Office Hours 8am-4pm
Develop in-services and training for the Perinatal Centers Network Hospitals (neonatal).
Provide education for new statewide quality initiatives.
Attend required statewide training on and off campus.
Conduct a needs assessment for individual hospitals in the network.
Provide education as the need arises.
Create logs, presentations and other forms of communication thru memos and flyers etc.
Data collection and maintenance for reporting.
Organize, coordinate and conduct neonatal trainings.
Have the flexibility to provide required and necessary in-services and training sessions off campus at the network hospitals based on the need.
Must have experience working in a Level III Tertiary, Acute Care facility Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
Experienced in the care of pre-term, term and post term neonates. Have the expertise and ability to develop, teach and instruct clinical staff thru educational sessions, skills stations, lectures, in-servicing and competency assessments.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
Strong communication skills.
Possess the ability to teach the adult learner, and provide feed-back.
Ability to perform and demonstrate a Head to Toe physical assessment of the Newborn.
Have the ability to interpret blood gas results and discuss the pH and oxygenation.
Have the ability to teach thermoregulation and fluid requirements in the neonate.
Must be able to calculate fluid requirement for the neonate.
Familiar with navigating in the electronic medical record.
