This position will provide services to clients with substance use disorders, dually diagnosed clients, and to clients who have been affected by another person’s substance abuse. The caseload for this position will include both adolescents and adults. The Staff Therapist will provide individual psychotherapy and support services, including appropriate case management functions in accordance with clients’ treatment plan and goals. This position may provide group, couples, and/or family counseling. The Staff Therapist will conduct Intake and Assessment/Treatment Planning for new clients and may perform alcohol/other drug evaluations. This position may act as liaison between PEER Services and outside resources, when authorized by the client and/or the program. This position is full-time and will require evening hours.
Key Job Responsibilities:
Provide individual psychotherapy and related case management services, as assigned. Responsibilities to include: provide primary therapist functions as assigned; provide therapy and case management in accordance with client’s treatment plan goals; provide regular review of client progress.
Facilitate the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), utilizing evidenced based program curriculum as well as incorporating individual service plan goals of clients in to IOP treatment. Responsibilities to include: provide a group experience that is cohesive and supportive for clients; communicate with outside mandating court and agency workers in a timely manner and as required.
Provide intake services for new clients, as assigned, including Telephone Intake, Assessment and Treatment Planning.
Provide alcohol/other drug clinical evaluations as assigned.
Maintain good communication and collaborative relationships with community referring agencies to formulate appropriate collaborative intervention strategies.
Participate in agency training and in-services, as well as workshops and conferences, as assigned.
Maintain a 60% caseload of 24 clinical hours per week.
Comply with all billing requirements for caseload as assigned.
Comply with toxicology testing and reporting as needed.
Must be open to working with both adolescents and adults
Must be available for both Evanston and Glenview office locations

Minimum of 1-2 years clinical experience (may include graduate internships). Must have successfully completed a Master’s Program and carry at least one of the following licenses, OR are able to obtain license within 90 days of employment.

Cannot have been convicted of any felony or had any subsequent incarceration for at least two years prior to the date of employment.
Interest in substance abuse treatment and open to both 12-Step based and Harm Reduction treatment.
Ability to climb 3 flights of stairs.
May require a valid driver’s license and vehicle if applying for a position at our Glenview office.
