Chicago child welfare agency seeks full-time Birth Parent Counselor for the greater metropolitan Chicago area and surrounding counties. This position is temporary starting July 5, 2017 to June 5, 2018 with potential for continuation. Job responsibilities include counseling pregnant women who are considering adoption; providing post-placement support, and social services to culturally diverse population. Additional responsibilities include assisting with marketing and outreach. Position requires high level of energy and commitment, flexibility and availability for occasional long hours, evenings and weekends.
Master’s degree preferred but must have at least Bachelor’s degree in Social Work plus 2+ years’ experience working with women and children. Reliable car, valid driver’s license and auto insurance. Candidate must have strong written and verbal skills.
