-Schedule: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, with on call responsibility
-Salary Range: Based on experience
Obtains and accurately documents relevant health histories, with emphasis on mental health using effective clinical interviewing skills
Performs comprehensive psychiatric evaluations under the authority of a collaborating psychiatrist
Elicits information from multiple sources using assessment techniques that are appropriate to the clients language, culture and developmental stage, demonstrating sensitivity and understanding of other ethnic groups, cultures, and sexual orientations.
Manages psychiatric emergencies with appropriate supervision
Collaborates with treatment team through regular staffing meetings and ongoing communication
Prescribes and monitors psychotropic and related medications based on clinical indicators as delegated by the collaborating psychiatrist
Provides psychiatric follow-up treatment of clients
Completes required paperwork and charting and reviews client medical history
Educates clients, both individually and in small groups, on a variety of health related topics
Maintains confidentiality of privileged information and adheres to patient privacy laws
Available to respond to clients and/or customers, either in person or over the phone, including after hours availability
Completion of a Master's degree in Advanced Practice Nursing and two years of experience in mental health nursing; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Current Illinois Registered Nurse Licence and Advanced Practice Nursing licence from the State of Illinois, to include documentation of prescriptive authority. Preferred candidate will have completed formal training in psychopharmacology.
