Hubbard Street’s External Affairs department seeks a highly motivated, detail-oriented and creative entry level fundraiser. Hubbard Street’s Development Coordinator supports the entire development staff to implement fundraising goals and strategies. Primary responsibilities include gift processing, special events support, maintenance of donor & patron records, generation of gift acknowledgements, data entry and the creation and management of solicitation lists. This individual will implement department reporting to keep the team on track towards its goals through generating weekly contribution reports. The Development Coordinator will manage interns and assist with prospect research, and additional support for the External Affairs team.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage all logistics for donor cultivation and fundraising events.
Record all contributions in Tessitura and input and structure data efficiently in Tessitura including event attendance, donor-solicitor associations, and research information.
Provide support for special events by managing all logistics including pulling lists for invitations, coordinating responses, tracking attendance and seating and developing materials for several events annually.
Generate weekly gift reports and monthly budget analysis from Tessitura.
Research prospective donors and help identify areas for growth in individual giving through data based analysis.
Responsible for generating, maintaining and improving donor base lists for annual reports, performance programs, events and general development needs.
Write and generate gift acknowledgements for all gifts using Tessitura and Microsoft Word.
Maintain accurate records of department expenditures and event budgets.
Sell single tickets during heavy traffic times, and for donors and board members as needed.
Assist Controller by compiling gift documentation during annual audit.
Draft and proofread letters, proposals and reports as needed.
Serve as direct supervisor to development department interns.
Provide department support to Directors and Managers as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Hubbard Street gives preference to candidates who have demonstrable experience advocating for equity, diversity and inclusion.
1-2 years of professional experience in a related field or comparable experience.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or comparable professional experience.
Computer literate with proficiencies in Microsoft Word and Excel (required); experience with Tessitura or other database systems (highly desired).
Excellent deadline-management, attention to detail, and customer service skills.
Initiative, timely follow-though and generative problem-solving; ability to adapt to changing priorities with grace and ease under time constraints.
