Urban Initiatives is growing, and we seek a new team member to join our Development Department in a leadership capacity to support our fundraising efforts. The Development Director of Individual Giving will serve in a leadership position on the six-person Urban Initiatives development team. We seek a strategic leader who is skilled in relationship building and communications, both internal and external.
This position is responsible for strategic direction, oversight, and implementation of Urban Initiatives’ individual giving development plan and supports our $4.5M annual budget with a specific emphasis on major and mid-level gifts. This person will support our ability to execute our strategic growth plan. This position will require the individual to work directly with the senior leadership team; they will also train and lead other staff or volunteers to support fundraising efforts.
Current fundraising strategies include organizational investments, school-specific program support, mid-level donor campaigns, special events, and crowdsourcing campaigns. Involvement in fundraising will include identifying prospects, cultivating donors, making strategic solicitations, and stewarding supporters.

Requirements and Qualifications
A minimum of five years in fundraising or relationship management
High energy level with a passion for Urban Initiatives’ mission
Proven track record of success in developing and maintaining relationships with donors and prospects
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Strong project management skills; ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
Desire to work collaboratively with the Urban Initiatives team
Ability to solve problems strategically and think critically
