CASL is a social service agency which provides services such as adult day, child care, immigration, employment and training, etc. Under the direct supervision of the Director of Administration, the receptionist welcomes visitors by greeting them, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries. He/She will direct visitors by maintaining employee and department directories and giving instructions. This position also maintains security by following procedures; monitoring entry doors and lobby area.
Greets clients and other callers, secures information necessary to direct them to appropriate staff and relays information on programs as appropriate.
Ensures that all clients, vendors, etc. sign in at the front desk upon entering building.
Handle incoming phone calls and take message when staff is not available.
Inform clients that services begin at 9:00 a.m. and ask clients to remain in the lobby until that time. (Exception of CIS classes and Exercise class for seniors)
Maintains safe and clean reception area by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
Assists with record-keeping and other receptionist area’s tasks.
Monitors the reception area for safety and proper protocol.
Position requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
A minimum of six months’ receptionist and/or customer service work experience.
Ability to speak and read Chinese (Cantonese/Mandarin) and English is required.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, word processing and typing skills desired.
Must have excellent telephone, verbal communication, and listening skills. Must exert professionalism, be customer focused, organized, and have the ability to handle stress and deal with conflict.
