Oak Park Township, Illinois is seeking a Youth Interventionist to join our diverse team, working for the benefit of youth, and their families, who are identified by the schools, police, libraries, park districts, townships, or others in the Oak Park or River Forest communities as “at-risk” for involvement with drugs, violence, or gangs. We are looking for a social worker skilled in an intensive case management approach to work primarily with a diverse caseload of at-risk youth and families. Knowledge and experience working with minority youth and families who have experienced trauma, and the ability to conduct groups is preferred.

Essential candidate qualities include the demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals and groups from diverse communities and cultures. Public speaking/presentation skills and interpersonal skills will also be required. The position requires a Master’s degree in social work, education, psychology or other related human services field, and two to three (2-3) years’ experience working with highly at-risk minority youth/families in prevention, intervention, outreach, and case management.
