The Events and Alumni Relations Manager, working with the Sr. Director, University Relationships and Advancement, will be responsible for the execution of a comprehensive fundraising and friend raising event program as well as Alumni event and volunteer management.
Essential Job Functions
Manage and implement all fundraising events and off campus friend raising events;
In collaboration with leadership design and grow an Alumni Association;
Develop the appropriate print materials (brochures, promotional materials and invitations) in collaboration with the marketing communications team to support every aspect of the event and Alumni Relations plan;
Manage correspondence with Alumni in collaboration with the Annual Fund Manager;
In collaboration with the Events & Guest Services team, coordinate and assist with donor events;
Through research and best practices, identify, cultivate and solicit individuals for event sponsorship, volunteer programs, and/or event publicity;
Identify prospective donors to other members of the Advancement team.
Develop and Manage event budgets individually, as a department
Staff the Alumni Association along with volunteers.
Maintain regular contact with internal and external constituencies, including Development, Academic Affairs, Formation, Finance, Events and Guest Services, members of executive management, alumni, donors, etc.
Education, Experience and Skills
BA/BS Degree from and accredited College or University and 3 years of experience with fundraising/event management, particularly with non-profit and/or education-based organizations
Raiser’s Edge experience preferred.
Computer skills including all Microsoft products (Outlook; Excel; Word)
Has a positive attitude, not easily discouraged, open to alternative views, accepting of coaching/peer input, and copes well even under pressure.
Is skilled in the art of anticipating the needs of others as well as clients, acts upon those needs appropriately, and helps remove barriers to excellent customer service.
Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines; works quickly without sacrificing quality.
Is visible with a positive presence, ethical, and highly professional.
Can troubleshoot all job processes, manage timelines and inventory needs, anticipate issues, and effectively multitask.
