General Job Description
The Senior Business Development Manager (SBDM) will play a pivotal role in improving the organization’s market position and achieve financial growth. They will be responsible for providing qualified business leads, managing growth pipelines, and developing new business relationships in key areas. The SBDM must develop a strong rapport with new/existing clients, set targets for sales, and provide support that will continually improve relationships. Also, the SBDM will lend day-to-day marketing support for designated key areas of TRP.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
• Manage/responsible for developing a new customer acquisition business plan for La Casa Innovative Student Living – targeting high potential clients, making presentations, and developing materials to reach prospective clients. • Responsible for identifying new prospects and initiating contact for follow up for TRP Realty and LiftUp Enterprises. • Manage/responsible for the overall tracking for marketing/customer acquisition, progression towards goals, managing pipelines, etc. • Responsible for providing daily marketing and communications support to the Stewardship of Community Assets Pillar, Community Organizing Pillar, and La Casa Innovative Student Living, to ensure better integration between departments, achieve stated goals per area, and earned revenue opportunities. • Manage the daily social media needs of designated areas incuding content creation and social interaction (monitoring, posting, tracking, etc.). • Support marketing with needs of media relations and event operations. • Build and develop relationships with strategic partners. • Other duties as assigned.
• Achieve customer acquisition goals in key areas (i.e., achieving La Casa residential occupancy rate; surpassing TRP Realty goals; securing new LiftUp Enterprises accounts). • Work towards and establish revenue goals for new business development projects and initiatives. • Active participation in meetings and programs.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree preferred. • 5 to 7 years of professional experience in either business development or marketing/communications. • Strong project management, time management, and prioritization skills. • Ability/experience in managing customer acquisition pipelines or other audience development experience with internal staff and external-facing public. • Strong understating of sales, prospecting, retention, and other sales related experience. • Excellent verbal and communication skills (including proofreading and copyediting). • Strong relationship-building skills. • Proficiency with popular IT applications (Excel, PowerPoint, email systems) and basic understanding of HTML (web updates), Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign. • Proficient understanding of social media and ability to navigate popular outlets (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter) including scheduling and other publishing tools. • Understanding and experience with e-newsletter distribution platforms (e.g., Mail Chimp, eTapestry). • Good organizational skills and demonstrated attention to detail. • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work well with other people in a team-oriented environment. • Ability to make smart decisions and adapt to changes, especially under fast-paced, stressful conditions. • Problem-solving skills and the ability to apply them to improve organizational and technical effectiveness. • Self-starting individual with proven ability to take ownership for results and driving change. • Calm in critical situations, open-minded, and the ability to adapt well to changing environments. • Experience across general marketing process in research, planning, promotion, and evaluation.
