General Job Description: The Manager is responsible for supporting the efforts of the Southeastern Territory for success and growth of fundraising events and programs in, including chapter/volunteer management as well as those tasks that will ensure the success of the mission of Cure SMA.
Manager is responsible for managing and executing grassroots special event fundraisers including galas, walk-n-rolls, golf tournaments, and endurance events.
The position works out of a home office located in the Miami or Fort Lauderdale area.
Principal Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Meet the revenue, implementation, and recruitment goals for each fundraising event in the defined timeframe to generate participant, sponsorship, volunteer, and in-kind growth
Work with Chapter families, Cure SMA staff and community leaders to identify, solicit, recruit, and develop volunteer committees and sponsors
Train Chapter leadership and event coordinators on best practices regarding:
Sponsorship identification and recruitment
Event marketing, media relations, and overall execution
Cure SMA policies and procedures
Effectively delegate and accomplish goals through the recruitment and development of volunteers
Build successful relationships with sponsors and event participants for the purposes of promoting Cure SMA and facilitating other opportunities for partnership
Steward and cultivate relationships with existing donors and key Chapter members
Manage all marketing and administrative tasks related to assigned territory events and chapters
Serve as Cure SMA liaison in a specific state or region for family support programs
Coordinate with Newly Diagnosed Family Support Contact on support for all newly diagnosed families within a specific state or region. Outreach to newly diagnosed families at designated times to offer support
Ability to manage complex logistical planning and execution
Excellent collaboration, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Excellent organizational, planning and project management skills
Able to manage multiple projects with overlapping deadlines
Ability to work collaboratively and independently
Interpersonal skills to build relationships with SMA families, volunteers, and donors
Working knowledge of MS Office required. Experience with Luminate Online and CRM a plus.
Job Experience: 2-4 years of working experience in fundraising events and volunteer management preferred. Dinner/gala experience preferred.
