Caris Pregnancy Counseling & Resources is a faith-based nonprofit organization serving women who are facing unplanned pregnancy. Our mission is to see both women and children thrive during and after unplanned pregnancy. We provide professional counseling and connect women to communities of support using a grace-filled approach.
We provide our services free of charge. Services include pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, professional counseling, support groups, and connection to resources.
Substitute Ultrasound Nurse
Reports to: Director of Programs
We are seeking a substitute nurse to provide ultrasound services for our clients at Caris sites.
Location: Caris sites
Hours: as needed, up to 16 hours/week
All Caris staff must exemplify a committed and consistent walk of Christian faith and dependence on Jesus. They must have a personal calling to ministry as well as the specific mission and vision of Caris. Our ultrasound nurse needs to be in alignment with the grace-filled approach utilized by Caris, with a desire to provide compassionate and non-judgmental care to each of our clients.
Provide ultrasound scans for any client who may benefit from this service in alignment with Caris’ counseling model and the ethical standards of the field
Implement all policies, procedures, and decisions set forth by the Board of Directors and Senior Leadership Team
Act as an expert to answer ultrasound-related questions
Consult with counselors and provide additional insight into client situations based on ultrasound appointments
Maintain a positive working relationship with our Medical Director as needed
General Administrative Responsibilities
Maintain accurate and up-to-date client documentation for records
Complete all necessary client follow-up
Participate in additional administrative projects as assigned by the Director of Client Services
Qualifications & Experience
Registered Nurse with a specialization in performing ultrasounds or a Bachelor’s degree with R.D.M.S. certification. Experience in obstetrics and gynecology required. At least 2 years of experience providing ultrasound scans required.
Candidate must exhibit strong communication skills as well as exceptional care and compassion towards each Caris client. Candidate must have excellent administrative skills, sharp clinical skills/judgment and flexibility. Candidate must be able to calmly handle emergency situations such as ectopic pregnancy or other abnormal ultrasound findings.
Ability to teach small groups on topics related to pregnancy, prenatal care, labor and delivery, and newborn care preferred.
