The Clinical Director/Senior Therapist will develop, implement, supervise and manage all elements of FSG’s counseling, casework, and crisis intervention programs and services. Position-specific responsibilities include:
Oversees the assignment of clinical cases to staff therapists, based on presenting problem, therapist expertise and agency resource capacity.
Provides individual and group clinical supervision and training to FSG therapists.
Supervises and provides back-up for crisis intervention service in partnership with Glencoe Public Safety.
Provides individual, couples, and family therapy utilizing an accepted clinical framework.
Completes intake assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
Provides client casework services to address clinical social service needs.
Works collaboratively with a range of community partners and FSG colleagues to plan and deliver education programs and events.
Assesses client risk of harm, provides appropriate safety planning and completes required reporting.
Adheres to professional standards of practice regarding clinical care and HIPAA.
The Clinical Director/Senior Therapist must be able to interact in a supportive and professional manner with clients, staff, board and community with the ability to respond effectively in crisis situations. The person in this position must work well in a small office team environment and be open to change as Family Service of Glencoe continues to grow.
The successful candidate will possess:
Minimum of a Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling or related field from an accredited graduate school with Illinois state licensure, i.e. LCSW or LCPC
Minimum of five years counseling experience with at least two years conducting clinical supervision and training
Strong verbal and written communication skills including public speaking
Strong administrative, clerical and organizational skills
Strong work ethic and self-motivation
Attention to detail and accuracy
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook
Preference will be given to candidates with additional training and certifications in alcohol/substance abuse treatment, training and experience in trauma informed care, and/or training and experience in marital and family therapy.
