We have an opening for an Staff Accountant in our Finance & Operations office. The ideal candidate will have accounting experience, be dedicated to accuracy, be willing to learn, have excellent interpersonal skills, be a team player and be able to meet deadlines.

Essential Function/Responsibility with associated competencies
Performs accounting, clerical and analytical tasks related to the efficient bookkeeping maintenance and processes of accounts payable/account receivable transactions.
Manage month and quarter end processes including bank reconciliations
Communicate and resolve issues in a timely manner regarding payments, payment amount discrepancies, accrual management, as well as any additional bookkeeping issues that may arise
Prepare journal entries, perform reconciliations and perform account analysis
Audit accounting records to verify accuracy
Applies accounting principles, theories and practices to a wide variety of tasks.
Manages and tracks credit card process, reconciles receipts to statement, properly documents and record.
Interacts with banks through online interfaces and make bank deposits.
Assists in developing and maintaining policies and procedures for accounting activities as needed and adhere to policies and procedures for all activities.
Maintains accounting files in an organized manner.
Assists to research, collect and copy backups for grant vouchering.
Assists in completing the financial statements and supporting analysis when needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Experience with the preparation of journal entries and full working knowledge of accrual accounting.
Knowledge of investment accounting a plus
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
Good attention to detail
Self-motivated and driven person who is dedicated to 100% accuracy, teamwork and meeting deadlines
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent is required
2-3 years of accounting experience preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, QuickBooks and Sage Intacct accounting system. Along with the ability to extract and analyze data, run reports and queries.
The position requires strong analytical and communication skills, good judgment in making decisions independently, and an ability to establish and maintain positive professional working relationships with a wide range of internal and external partners.
Work is generally sedentary in nature, but requires walking, sitting, traveling, and occasionally standing, bending, reaching, lifting boxes, and unloading supplies. Requires ability to lift 25 pounds or less.
