In alignment with the Mission of the Archdiocese of Chicago (AoC), the Director of Parish Operations Support will work closely with the Director of Parish Finance and Administration (who also reports to Tim Cawley) to drive improved operating results in parishes and schools. This role will oversee the Accounting Support Center, which provides shared service accounting support to Archdiocesan parishes and schools; is responsible for tracking school and parish operating results, analyzing and reporting results, and developing process improvements to continually improve performance; and oversee an internal parish support team that works with parishes and the Pastoral Center to resolve operational issues, drive the budget process at parishes, train business managers and respond to questions in a timely manner.
Oversee Accounting Support Center (currently a team of 16) which works directly with parishes - both on-site and remotely - to assist with their accounting and to help them to meet the requirements for the Archdiocese in providing financial reporting and data
Oversee parish support team that works directly with parishes to coordinate with Pastoral Center departments and individuals to resolve parish operational issues. This small team of two also drives the parish budgeting process, provides training for new parish business managers, and provides guidance on how parishes should operate to comply with Archdiocesan reporting requirements.
Manage internal approval process for all parish capital requests, with input from Director of Parish Finance and Administration. All parish capital projects must meet certain financial targets before proceeding, and must be approved by the Chief Operating Officer and Vicar General.
Provide financial result tracking, analysis and reporting to assess and improve parish and school operating results, particularly parishes and schools receiving support from dedicated teams in each vicariate

Minimum ten years’ experience in business-oriented roles, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a managerial role

Demonstrated strong analytical ability to interpret data and drive effective decision-making
Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
Must demonstrate understanding, respect and support for Catholic Church teaching, mission and values. Hiring preference will be given to candidates who are Catholic.
