We are now hiring for a full-time Medical Billing Specialist 3 to join our GO Team!
Essential Job Functions:
Prepares and submits centralized claims through electronic or non-electronic means to ensure processing and payment.
Completes receivable, exception and denial processes such as electronic remittance, cash application, insurance rejections, overpayments/ refunds, bill errors, misapplied/unapplied payments and charges, and returned checks.
Facilitates credentialing needs of clinical providers and maintains the agency provider credentialing requirements such as tracking renewal dates with Medicaid and Managed Care entities. Completes credentialing process with new managed care entities, accountable care entities and care coordination entities as instructed by program management.
Provides oversight supervision and monitors the accuracy and follow-through of billing tasks assigned to temporary staff, agency support or outsourced services (claims, reconciliation and denial functions).
Monitors all claim processes to bring A/R balance to zero, reporting irregularity to IMS Business Analysis/Billing.
Serves as a central knowledge resource to agency of Medicare, Medicaid and other payer information. Initiates research, attends payer trainings, and assists in E.H.R. preparation of procedure code and rate changes.
Monitors the client collections process: adheres to the standards, guidelines, procedures, and deadlines set by the agency and government regulations.
Cultivates good payer contact relationships for optimal payer response to Metropolitan Family Services reimbursements.
Assists the Business Analyst to develop and implement billing process improvements, and provide training to staff at multiple locations of the agency.
Performs other tasks and participates in other projects as required.
High School with five (5) years medical billing experience (minimum); Bachelor's degree, Associate’s degree or certification program preferred.
Experience in finance, business and Healthcare Technology or Management highly desired.
A minimum of 3 years office experience with emphasis on automated systems required.
Knowledge of Medical, Medicaid, Medicare and Commercial Insurance billing required.
Must have excellent interpersonal skills to communicate with clients, clinical providers and upper management.
Advanced computer skills, including prior experience with P.M.S or E.H.R and proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
