Completes individual and group early interventions, SBIRTS, community interventions and facilitate aftercare group, drug prevention and other psycho-educational groups.
Conducts outreach to individuals in the community in need of substance abuse treatment and provides referrals to appropriate resources.
Provides recovery education to clients at every phase of recovery: pre-recovery engagement, recovery initiation, recovery stabilization, and sustained recovery maintenance.
Provides transportation for teen and adult clients to and from individual and group sessions from home or school and to other destinations including detox as needed.
Maintains up-to-date and accurate client files and databases, as required by agency/programmatic policies and procedures, professional standards, and external requirements of all relevant regulatory, licensing, or accrediting bodies in the course of performing job expectations.
Assists clients with recovery plan to help facilitate the transition from a professionally directed treatment plan to a self-directed a recovery plan.
Handles all crisis situations and client complaints with sensitivity and experience, makes independent decisions and consults with supervisory chain.
Identifies new resources and makes suggestions regarding utilization of current resources to the advantage of participants.
Supports clients connections to community based, mutual self-help groups and maintains contact by phone and/or e-mail with client person after they leave the program to facilitate their ongoing success and to provide re-engagement support in partnership with others in the agency if needed.
Participates in continuous quality improvement.
Preferred Requirements: Associate’s degree. Three years of experience working with addiction and recovery services. Understand and have knowledge of the needs, concerns and goals of individuals who struggle with addiction.
Minimum Requirements: GED. Two years of experience working with addiction and recovery services. Understand and have knowledge of the needs, concerns and goals of individuals who struggle with addiction.
Other Requirements: Position requires a valid driver’s license, automobile insurance. Certified Recovery Specialist Coach certification.
