We are now hiring for a part-time Community Service Aide 1 to join our team!
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Applicant will be an hours to be reported staff that will work between 2.5 up to 10 hours per week during a series.
Applicant may be asked to work in a variety of locations within the city and suburbs including Blue Island, Robbins, Palos Hills and Altgeld Gardens .
Hours vary based on program need.
Classes are held during the day and evenings, each class is 2 hours in length with 15 minutes for set up and 15 minutes for cleanup.
Group set up and clean up provides Child care and other structured play age appropriate activities for children. Children vary in age from 1 to 16 years old.
Applicant will need to be flexible in ability to care for infants, toddlers and school aged children.
Applicant should be able to adapt activities based on the ages of children in their group. Art Supplies and toys are available for each class site.
Applicant must be able to provide their own transportation to and from assigned class sites, must be punctual, flexible and a team player.
Provides client escort to appointments, shipping assistance, and friendly visiting.
Implements service plans and contributes to assessing client functioning.
Provides a supportive, structured relationship to agency clients while focusing on specific tasks.
Assists with, teaches, and models day-to-day living skills such as household, ADL, medication and money.management, parenting, socialization, and/or advocacy skills.
Monitors client functioning, exercising judgement in reporting changes and/or new information to primary worker and supervisor, or in seeking emergency intervention.
Documents services as required by agency, funding sources, and regulatory bodies.
May carry responsibility for specific areas of site upkeep and safety.
May work with community agencies to secure needed services.
May provide heavy-duty assistance with clean out, packing, and/or moving.
May provide assistance with light housekeeping and/or personal care.
May prepare congregate meals.
Works effectively with diverse staff and service population.
High School diploma or equivalent and six months of training or demonstrated experience in related area.
Must have good verbal communication skills.
As required by program, must be able to maintain community and home-based assignments, valid driver's license, car insurance, and good driving record.
Ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and groups.
