Works with the Director of Outpatient Mental Health and Vice President of Behavioral Health to plan, organize, direct, and develop all aspects of the Training and Testing Programs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Administrative and Supervisory Responsibilities
Participates in planning process with Director of Outpatient Mental Health and Vice President of Behavioral Health for program development and evaluation, and resource deployment and utilization.
Provide weekly individual supervision to student trainees.
Provide clinical and administrative supervision to mental health staff as needed.
Run weekly Student Supervisor consultation meetings to provide supervisor training and discuss student progress and performance as well as other supervisory issues. Maintain regular and open communication with other supervisors, collaborating to identify and address student issues that may need to be addressed and regarding strategies for supporting student growth.
Provide approximately monthly Group Supervision with Licensed Psychologist from Internship Consortium to Consortium Doctoral Interns.
Provide weekly group supervision to trainees to identify and address large-scale training and/or clinical issues and communicate updates regarding the training program.
Facilitate weekly case consultations for trainees.
Develop and implement didactic series and other training opportunities for students and supervisors.
Responsible for selection of supervisors and Masters and Undergraduate trainees for each training year.
Responsible for evaluating supervisee performance via verbal and written means, both informally throughout the training year and via specified formal evaluations.
Responsible for identifying and addressing concerns related to trainee competence or performance, which may include but is not limited to conducting meetings with trainee, his or her Pillars Community Health supervisor, or trainee’s school personnel; communicating with trainee’s school liaison regarding concerns; or developing a formal written plan related to such concerns.
Develop and communicate requirements for supervisors in training program, and address any situations in which supervisors are not meeting those requirements. Such action may include verbal consultation with the supervisor or his/her supervisor or program director or the development of a written plan to address the concerns.
Manage supervision coverage of trainees, identifying substitute supervisors as needed if supervisors are going to be absent or leave the agency.
Provide additional supervision or crisis support to trainees across programs as needed outside of scheduled supervisions or as a substitute supervisor when a supervisor is unavailable.
Oversees day to day management of training program including but not limited to the following: develop and maintain educational materials, responding to requests for information about training opportunities, develop and maintain relationships with liaisons.
Responsibilities Related to Testing Program
Responsible for developing and maintaining Pillars Community Health forms and procedures related to testing referrals, education about the testing process, and the initiation and completion of testing services.
In collaboration with other relevant administrators, responsible for developing and implement testing procedures consistent with the requirements of Rule 132 or other funding sources.
In collaboration with other relevant administrators, responsible for developing and addressing expectations for testing fees.
Train new staff on referring to testing services.
Collect and evaluate information related to improvement of the testing program.
Maintain a small caseload of individual, family, and/or group therapy clients.
Provides services on-site, in-homes, and on-site at community partners (including schools, police stations, etc) where appropriate.
Provides crisis support as needed.
Maintain records in accordance with agency policies and complete required outcomes protocols.
Participate in agency meetings and in-services.
Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Advanced degree (Masters or Doctorate) in Counseling, Psychology, Clinical Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related field. LCSW/LCPC/LMFT or Licensed Clinical Psychologist required.
Two years experience in mental health, community based services, social work, or counseling required. Experience in a supervisory or leadership role highly preferred.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
Must maintain a safe driving record and have current valid Illinois Driver’s License. Personal vehicle needed for transportation to/from home, multiple office locations, and community based clinical work. Mileage for authorized work-related purposes is reimbursable.
Outpatient setting, primarily office-based with locations in Berwyn and Western Springs.
