Aspire Kids is seeking a full-time Pediatric Occupational Therapist, for our Hillside location. This is an excellent opportunity to work collaboratively with an exceptional occupational therapy and multidisciplinary team in a family-centered model while providing evaluations and therapy for infants, toddlers and young children with developmental delays and disabilities. Knowledge of typical and atypical development, sensory integration, assessment, and intervention strategies specific to these age groups as well as the ability to work well with families and team members is required.
Complete comprehensive evaluations, make recommendations, write and measure goals and outcomes and provide occupational therapy for children as assigned.
Provide family centered, child directed therapy at the center, home, community setting or school.
Write accurate and thorough documentation including, evaluation reports, progress summaries, and daily progress notes for children assigned.
Integrate parents, family members and key caregivers into all aspects of the provision of services.
Provide parent/family education for optimal follow through on therapy activities.
Provide consultation to teachers, community providers, parents and caregivers to develop strategies, modifications and programming to improve the child’s function and independence in the school and community settings.
Provide school/ community education workshops/activities on topics such as motor development, sensory integration and strategies for participation in inclusive settings.
Maintain communication with team members, parents, physicians, outside agencies, and others regarding program/treatment changes, children’s needs and progress.
Provide in-service training for parents/caregivers and staff regarding evidence-based practice, research and trends in occupational therapy.
Complete required paperwork as assigned.
Assist staff with outreach development and community education projects, as requested.
Work cooperatively with Child and Family Connections Offices.
Ensure that authorizations for services are received and accurate prior to the initiation of services.
Complete billing in a timely and accurate manner.
Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor.
MS in Occupational Therapy or OTD
Licensed Occupational Therapist in the State of Illinois
Current Registration with NBCOT
Early Intervention credentials
Extensive knowledge of assessment, intervention and outcome
