Established community mental health center in Skokie, IL seeks a full-time (40 hours/week) Billing and Client Services Specialist.

The Billing and Client Services Specialist is a member of the Billing and Client Services Team. The Billing and Client Services Specialist completes orientation appointments for new clients and client paperwork to set fees and notifies new clients of fees and financial expectations. Other duties include: Explaining billing procedures and financial expectations to clients, including explanation of insurance deductibles and fees. Completes fee renewals and fee repayment agreement. Monitors closed client outstanding balances. Monitors open client balances and runs monthly report and follows up with clients who are delinquent in payments or who have accrued new balances. Completes insurance paneling and credentialing for clinicians (therapists and psychiatrists).
This position requires some flexibility with one's work schedule, and the ability to work 1-2 evenings per week.

Minimum educational attainment of Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
Experience with Medical Billing and/or familiarity with and understanding of Insurance terminology and concepts
Ability to work effectively within a team
Strong computer skills. Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required, specifically with Microsoft Word, Excel and Access.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of data gathering techniques, such as Internet research and files analysis, to obtain technical and administrative materials for organizational use.
Ability to communicate effectively and positively both verbally and in writing with clients and staff.
Ability to operate standard office equipment including but not limited to computers, copiers, calculators, and facsimile machines.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to perform incidental typing of routine material (e.g., cards, labels, folders, envelopes, memoranda, letters).
Ability to maintain confidentiality, use good judgment and sensitivity.
Ability to communicate with and elicit cooperation from others and to assimilate and understand information in a manner consistent with the essential job functions.

Ability to develop clear and comprehensive correspondence.
