The Outreach Community Center in Carol Stream is a multi-purpose, neighborhood resource center serving a low-income, ethnically diverse neighborhood. Services include counseling, casework, mentoring, community development, services for older adults and after-school programs for children and youth.
The Bilingual Lead Receptionist will be responsible for carrying out Front Desk duties including answering telephones, assisting walk-in visitors, triaging casework calls, reserving facilities, collecting and tracking program fees, managing mail, completing work orders, translating and utilizing office equipment. The Lead Receptionist will report to the Office Manager, working in a collaborative environment and assist with various office duties as assigned.
Great communication skills & telephone etiquette. Welcoming, energetic, committed to delivery of outstanding customer service. Previous Receptionist and Customer Service experience. General knowledge of office procedures. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook; minimum typing speed of 45 wpm. Strong organizational skills and initiative to improve efficiencies in the front desk. Able to multi–task and take responsibility for a variety of projects. Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information. Spanish Language Proficiency: verbal and written with the ability to translate documents. Ability to represent our organization in a warm, professional courteous manner. A commitment to the agency’s Statement of Christian Mission and Faith and a sensitivity to the needs of low-income and under resourced people.
Part-time at 27 hours per week Summer Hours (June 18-August 10): 7:30am-1:00pm School Year Hours: 8:15am-1:45pm
Salary for this position falls between $12.85 and $14.50 per hour based on skills, language ability and experience.
