The Citizens Utility Board (CUB), one of Illinois’ premier consumer advocacy groups, has an immediate opening for an administrative and consumer advocacy assistant. This is a great opportunity to assist an acclaimed non-profit in its mission: fighting electric/gas rate hikes, educating Illinois utility consumers, preventing rip-offs, and advocating for a clean energy future.

What you’ll be doing at CUB:
Serve as the primary receptionist.
Provide administrative support to the consumer advocacy and operations departments.
Serve as a back-up consumer rights associate, when needed.
What we need from you:
Demonstrated public interest commitment;
Excellent written and verbal skills;
Energy, enthusiasm and pride for assisting staff and running/maintaining the front office;
Friendly disposition, patience and ability to work with minimal supervision;
High school diploma or equivalent, a must. Associate's Degree, preferred;
At least one year's experience working with consumers/clients via telephone, preferably on a busy switchboard;
Proficiency in MSOffice, required. Experience in cloud-based computing, a plus;
Ability to speak Spanish, preferred.
