Ray Graham Association (“RGA”) in Lisle, IL is looking for an Assistant Controller to take on a leadership role within the Finance Department. The Assistant Controller will be responsible for providing timely and reliable monthly and year-end financial reporting under the direction of the Controller.
This position is responsible for the day to day accounting operations, managing the finance team through work allocation, coaching, mentoring and problem resolution. The Assistant Controller will take the lead in maintaining a system of internal controls; monitoring annual operating budgets and capital improvement plans; and budgetary guidelines. They maintain the organization’s compliance with GAAP, as well as the requirements of various government agencies. The Assistant Controller serves as a member of the leadership team and fully supports the mission and values of Ray Graham Association.
Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or finance or commensurate experience
8+ years progressive experience in accounting/finance
3-5 years of experience leading and managing a team of financial professionals
Ability to motivate, develop and mentor team members in order to optimize their performance and job satisfaction.
Ability to coach others and to instill a sense of ownership as a way to empower team members towards greater results.
Ability to work independently combined with a strong collaborative style of communication
Must have thorough knowledge of GAAP.
Must have a broad understanding of budgeting, financial statements and internal controls.

Ability to communicate with all levels within the organization and ability to work and learn independently and in a team situation
Strong organizational and time management skills

Excellent PC, Excel, MS Word and Financial ERP systems
Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
Graduate degree in business, accounting, finance or a related field
Experience with Illinois DHS/DHFS billing through ROCS and Medi systems, Paylocity Payroll Service, & Accufund a definite plus
