The Early Childhood Education Manager is responsible for the coordination and planning of education services for 0-5 year olds for Head Start and Early Head Start programs operations. As the Education Manager, you will oversee the strength-based coaching model and the training needs of center and home-based staff at our Chicago and Northwest Chicago suburban locations. Well-qualified candidates will possess a comprehensive understanding of the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework, Illinois Early Learning Standards, CLASS, ITERS and ECERS, and demonstrate thorough knowledge and application of developmentally appropriate school readiness practice.

Provide direction, coordinate, and monitor the quality of Educational programming and services provided by all program options of Head Start and Early Head Start, at all Chicago and Northwest suburban program sites.
Guide implementation of educational plans, standards, and procedures consistent with DCFS, Head Start Program Performance Standards, NAEYC accreditation standards, Illinois Learning Standards, and policies and procedures approved by Children’s Home + Aid Board of Trustees and Head Start Parent Policy Group.
Provide strength-based coaching and support to EHS/HS teaching and home-based staff; lead program assessment and professional development strategies for staff to meet School Readiness and Child Outcomes Goals.
Assist teaching staff to structure environments, routines, and interactions that contribute to positive social-emotional outcomes for the children and families in a program.
Conduct CLASS observations and review, analyze, and evaluate child outcome data; make recommendations for continuous quality improvement.
Participate in the process to help staff develop plans to improve their environments and teaching practices to support children’s growth and development, and overall program quality.
Assume lead responsibility for parent involvement in education services as per Head Start Program Performance Standards.
Develop linkage agreements and maintain relationships with other community providers.
Work collaboratively with site managers, program supervisors, and education coordinators to comprehensively meet the needs of children.
Provide training to parents and staff.
Develop, monitor and coordinate disabilities and mental health services.
Participate in the hiring process of new teaching staff
Bachelor of Arts or Science in Early Childhood Education or related field required; Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education preferred.
Level 5 ECE Credential and Level 5 Infant/Toddler Credential required.
Illinois Professional Educator's Licensure with Early Childhood Endorsement (Type 04 Certification) strongly preferred.
Additional preferred enhancing credentials: CLASS Reliable Observer for Infant, Toddler, and Pre-K; Familiarity with Creative Curriculum, Teaching Strategies GOLD, Parents As Teachers, ITERS, and ECERS.
Minimum of five years experience in an Early Childhood Program with at least three years in Head Start/Early Head Start administrative/Manager role, preferably in a multi-site program.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Skills in documentation and record-keeping.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
Ability to effectively collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team.
Valid driver’s license, insurance and a reliable vehicle required.
