YWCA METROPOLITAN CHICAGO is seeking a LEAD TEACHER (INFANT/TODDLER) to join the Prevention Initiative Program. This is an exempt, full-time position reporting to the EHS-CCP Education Manager. This position is based at Alpha and Omega Learning Center located in Melrose Park, IL. Compensation is commensurate with experience.
Lead, coach, and mentor 4 classroom co-teachers (across two I/T classrooms) in daily implementation of all aspect of Prevention Initiative programming
Document daily attendance, meal count, service plans, and student interest inventories
Work with co-teachers to create and implement developmentally appropriate Creative Curriculum Weekly Lesson Plans for individual and whole group
Support teachers in preparing learning environment using ITERS and ECERS Scales
Administer and document initial and ongoing development using ASQ, ASQ/SE, and Teaching Strategies Gold at established benchmarks
Partner with parents to develop educational goals
Early Childhood Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Self-contained General Education Birth to Age Three Endorsement OR Gateways to Opportunity Infant/Toddler Credential Level 5 OR Early Childhood Credential Level 5
Minimum two years preschool or infant/toddler teaching experience
Meet Department of Children and Family Services Requirements for Licensure
Bi-Lingual Spanish/English preferred
Ability to lift infants and toddlers weighing up to thirty-five pounds
Ability to sit on floor, bend at waist, kneel and/or stoop 75% of the time
Ability to travel to conduct scheduled homes visits as needed (evidence of reliable and insured transportation required)
