The National Runaway Safeline (NRS), a 24-hour crisis line for runaway, homeless, and at-risk youth and families, seeks a prevention and outreach specialist to promote runaway prevention, education and outreach strategies nationwide. This position will market NRS’ information and materials to organizations nationwide, lead a national awareness campaign, write proposals for and conduct workshop presentations at national conferences, provide technical assistance and training in person and online, and collect evaluative feedback on prevention and outreach efforts.

Bachelor’s degree in social service, communication or related field.
Five years program implementation experience in a social service agency or educational environment.
Proven public speaking and presentation skills.
Proven curriculum development, outreach and program management experience.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Requires detail oriented person with strong problem-solving skills, and an ability to multi-task to meet deadlines.
Schedule includes some evenings and weekends, which include travel out of state 4-6 times per year. Must have a reliable method of traveling within the city, suburbs, and other areas of Illinois.
Experience with Windows-based computers, Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Google Analytics, Survey Monkey, GoToWebinar, eLearning authoring tools, and databases are preferred.
