Respiratory Health Association is seeking a coordinator with a high energy level and outstanding organizational skills to join our fundraising special events team. The candidate will be involved with participant cultivation, event fundraising and should be articulate and personable. Candidate should be a skilled multi-tasker without sacrificing quality. This position requires experience in project management, administrative support, Microsoft Office and the willingness to learn RHA systems. Graphics experience a plus but not necessary.
Provide project support on all special events (Hustle Up the Hancock, Hike for Lung Health, CowaLUNGa Bike Tour, Chicago Marathon (RHA’s Lung Power Team) and CHILL (wine and culinary event with silent auction)
Lead for Summer Reception and Volunteer Recognition Night.
Work on incentive prizes, merchandise and awards.
Assist with preparation and packing for event day/weekend.
Work with special event participants to establish and meet fundraising goals. Identify participants for human interest stories.
Other duties as assigned. Must be able to attend all events.
Bachelor’s degree a minimum 2 years’ experience in event planning, project and admin support or internship equivalent.
Excellent communications and customer service skills.
First-rate organizational skills.
Must be able to multi-task, work independently in a deadline-driven environment and collaborate with our special events team.
Desire to work in a non-profit organization.
Must be able to work/attend events and event-related activities that will include some weekends and evenings.
Must be able to lift 20 lbs.
