Cure SMA is a growing national non-profit organization, seeking to raise its public profile and expand its base of donors and supporters. The Development Manager, Endurance will lead Cure SMA’s Endurance Program including participant recruitment, fundraising support, and event promotion. The Development Manager should have a strong background in event fundraising with a focus on peer to peer fundraising support and sponsorship development.

Other Duties and Responsibilities
Leads event promotion strategy including any grassroots event marketing activities to drive participant recruitment.
Collaborate with members of the Marketing & Communications team to execute participant recruitment and retention strategies.
Participant and Team Fundraising Support
Manages and cultivates relationships with top fundraisers, teams, event participants, volunteers, and sponsors.
Provides guidance and fundraising support to event participants.
Drives revenue growth through active coaching and development of event participants.
Stewards event participants, teams, fundraisers, volunteers and sponsors year-round and provides connection to Cure SMA’s mission.
Corporate Sponsor Development
Through collobaration with the Director of Corporate and Foundation Development, creates and implements a Corporate Sponsor program including Corporate Team recruitment and engagement.
Conduct sales calls, in person meetings, and exploratory meetings to generate new partnerships
Perform other duties as assigned

Bachelor’s in non-profit management, marketing, or a related business degree preferred.
Minimum of 2-3 years progressive experience in nonprofit fundraising and development; experience with healthcare or disease-based organizations is a plus.
Proven experience working donors, peer to peer fundraisers, and sponsors including outstanding ability to establish relationships, make asks, and thank appropriately.
Self-starter, motivated individual with the ability to set goals and take action to achieve goals.
Able to prioritize, schedule, manage, and monitor multiple projects.
Able to establish strong collaborative relationships and work with others in a cooperative and effective manner.
Able to work and communicate with a wide range of internal and external constituents.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Salesforce, Blackbaud Luminate Online, and Blackbaud TeamRaiser with the ability to extract and analyze data, run reports and queries.
The Development Manager will maintain accurate records of donor, sponsor and gift information while managing all information with the highest professional and ethical standards.
The position requires strong analytical, communication, and negotiating skills, good judgment in making decisions independently, and an ability to establish and maintain positive professional working relationships with a wide range of internal and external partners.
Work is generally sedentary in nature, but requires walking, sitting, traveling, and occasionally standing, bending, reaching, lifting boxes, and unloading supplies. Requires ability to lift 25 pounds or less.
