Job Summary: This newly created role is responsible for developing, managing and executing strategic initiatives to increase referrals of eligible children across the state of Illinois. Manages team to increase visibility and clarity about Make-A-Wish Illinois in the healthcare community and among families whose children may be eligible for wishes. Oversees intake and qualification process for inquiring families.
Develops, manages and executes strategic initiatives to achieve growing statewide referral goals
Stewards existing relationships with hospital referral sources and cultivates new ones
Leads Medical Outreach Specialist and Community Engagement Managers on statewide efforts to cultivate and deepen their portfolios of relationships with referral sources
Leads hospital integration efforts, including awareness-building, direct engagement, training and integrated information systems
Oversees referral outreach campaigns and efforts targeting prospective wish families
Manages Chapter Medical Advisory Council
Manages Referral Coordinator to ensure medical intake and eligibility processes are in compliance with performance standards
Analyzes referral data for trends and identifies new referral opportunities
Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Required Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of hospital systems
Excellent written, verbal and public speaking communication skills
Proven experience leading staff and volunteer teams
Superior relationship building skills
Excellent organization and project management skills
Ability to use data to inform decision making
Preferred Education & Experience:
5-7 years’ experience in program management, hospital administration, or sales/marketing
Bachelor’s degree in business or hospital administration, marketing, social work, or other related field
