The YWCA Campaign Manager will be responsible for implementing and completing a $15 million campaign to support the growth and expansion of YWCA Evanston/North Shore. This role will work closely with YWCA’s President and CEO, Vice President of Development, Campaign Leadership, Board of Directors, and other staff to support and execute a broad-based fundraising plan targeting individuals, corporations and foundations for the YWCA Campaign. The ideal candidate should be energetic, self-motivated and a flexible team player.
Overall campaign management and organization, including maintaining timelines, preparing talking points, assembling presentations and handling full meeting prep for board, campaign volunteers and staff.
Research and identify prospects, manage prospect lists, and develop and execute targeted cultivation plans and solicitation strategies for a range of prospects, including individuals and corporations.
In collaboration with Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations, identify and cultivate institutional prospects and prepare proposals as needed.
Create and implement strategies to raise YWCA’s profile within corporate/small business community and wealth advisors.
In collaboration with CEO and Vice President of Development, help recruit and manage campaign volunteers, including campaign leadership from the surrounding communities. Schedule and support all campaign leadership meetings. Organize and monitor campaign volunteer assignments. Provide appropriate follow-up and support to campaign volunteers as needed.
Campaign Communications and Events
Manage all aspects of campaign cultivation and recognition events, and campaign-related milestone activities.
Working with Communications team, assist with development of campaign communications, including case for support and donor materials, campaign e-newsletter, public relations, and other print and electronic campaign materials.
In collaboration with Vice President of Development, manage the campaign fundraising budget and work closely with Campaign Counsel to ensure campaign plan, proposed strategy and fundraising targets are achieved.
Assist with campaign record keeping, evaluate progress towards goals, and prepare periodic reports on fundraising for presentation by CEO and Vice President of Development to Board and volunteer leadership.
Help ensure documentation and execution of donor acknowledgement, stewardship and public recognition, as appropriate.
Provide support as needed for Annual Fund online and direct mail appeals.
May require working some evenings and weekends.
Expected to participate in and support all Development department fundraising activities and special events.
Attends management and other agency meetings and contributes to the overall strategic growth of the organization.
Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Pursues professional development Understands and adheres to all YWCA Evanston/North Shore procedures and policies as well as the Employee Handbook.
Experience & Skills:
5-7 years of professional experience in fundraising with a proven track record of success, including specific experience in capital campaigns and individual giving.
Proven success at securing major gift support from individuals and in establishing relationships with foundation/corporate funders.
Experience in managing campaign budgets, and demonstrated experience in developing campaign materials.
Excellent interpersonal, analytical and organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively with senior management, volunteer leadership, staff members, consultants and donors/prospects.
Superior verbal and written communication skills.
Experience in scheduling and staffing solicitation calls and conducting follow up and stewardship.
Computer proficiency in MS Office, donor database/customer relationship management software, required
Knowledge of the role of technology and electronic communication in fundraising required
Proficiency with Donor Perfect Online preferred
Prolonged sedentary periods
Employee may be required to share office space
Occasional nights, weekends, and/or offsite events in assembly halls, commercial businesses, or private homes
