Children's Home & Aid's Child Care Resource & Referral Program helps provide a bridge between parents and caregivers and quality child care providers in Southern Illinois. The Infant-Toddler Child Care Specialist provides consultation to child care providers to increase the quality and availability of care to Illinois infants, toddlers, and two-year-olds, with a focus on at-risk children. As the Infant-Toddler Child Care Specialist, you will work directly with child care providers in both home and community-based settings, providing training and technical assistance.
Infant-Toddler Child Care Specialist responsibilities include:
Provide phone, email, and on-site consultation and technical assistance to infant and toddler child care providers, in accordance with ExceleRate Illinois standards.
Assist child care providers in completing quality assessments, reviewing results, and using tools and strategies for continuous quality improvement.
Provide Infant-Toddler Child Care trainings and engage in community outreach to increase provider participation.
Link providers with appropriate community resources.
Collaborate with community partners to raise awareness of the importance of quality infant-toddler child care; assess community needs and use data to inform program activities.
Maintain documentation of program activities.
Maintain a database of child care providers, community resources, and records.
Bachelor’s Degree required: degree must either be in Child Development, Early Childhood, or a closely related field, OR in a human service field with at least 18 ECE credit hours (must include unofficial transcript with application).
Minimum of one Infant/Toddler college course required.
Three years paid experience in an early childhood or child care setting required.
Ability to attend and successfully complete multiple out-of-town, overnight, agency-paid trainings.
Proficiency with Microsoft office products.
Excellent communication skills required.
Must be detail oriented and able to effectively work independently.
Driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation required.
