Assists Program Director in the daily and overall operations and the Teen Reach Program.
Responsible for and/or makes the needed recommendations for the hiring, discipline and performance evaluation of staff; responsible for coaching, supervising, training, and professional development of staff.
Responsible for assigning work to staff and ensuring the work is performed in an efficient, prompt, professional and accurate manner and provides guidance, when necessary.
Ability to interact with the youth participants, while reinforcing the development of skills and knowledge that youth gain through participation in the program.
Acts as a liaison between participants and parents/caregivers.
Engages in outreach to neighboring schools and parishes to recruit participants.
Assists in ensuring the Peace Corner remains a safe and secure environment for staff and clients by implementing safety procedures and working with security personnel.
Develops and implements a weekly schedule of activities which take into account the individual needs and interests of the children in the group that include recreational, social and physical activities.
Completes all required documentation in accordance with agency/programmatic policies and procedures, professional standards, and external requirements of all relevant regulatory, licensing, funding or accrediting bodies
Position requires ability to work evenings and/or weekend hours.
Preferred Requirements: Bachelor’s degree. Three to five years of relevant experience.
Minimum Requirements: Associate’s degree. One year of direct service experience. CPR Certification
Other Requirements: Driver’s license and reliable transportation. Agency-specified automobile insurance. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing and the ability to work independently in a supervisory role
