We are currently hiring for a Family Service Associate at our Centro Nuestro location in Humboldt Park.
The experienced candidate will assist in the development and implementation of age appropriate activities, reflecting the age-appropriatecation and Disability Standards.
Assist the Child Care Director in the recruitment and enrollment of eligible families; conduct follow-up on children with excessive and sporadic attendance; assist in completing family assessments and referrals; assist in data entry and assist in the identification and referral process of children with suspected disabilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist with providing a learning environment for children that will help promote learning through all developmental areas: physical, social-emotional and intellectual.
Assist in providing a “child-centered environment” which includes individualized, small and large group activities.
Assist in reviewing and evaluating children’s medical records and consult with Child Care Director assisting in facilitating the development of services plans.
Conduct home visits to counsel parents regarding their child’s attendance, development and promote family engagement.
Assist in the referral and evaluation process of children with suspected disabilities.
Assist in supervising classroom, outdoor activities, and field trips.
Attend and support parent committee meetings and family engagement activities.
Recruit and identify eligible families for the Head Start, Child Care and Pre-School for All Program.
Conduct attendance follow-up on children with excessive and sporadic attendance.
Assist in the completion of family partnership agreements and referral process.
Assist in referring children identified as needing medical and dental treatment.
Develop and maintain an organized record – keeping system as outlined by CYC Management Plan and DFSS Record Keeping Systems.
Attend meetings and training in assigned content areas as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: AA Degree in Early Childhood Development or Childhood Education- must meet this requirement 1-2 years of related experience
