Be Strong Families (BSF) is a national 501 c-3 organization whose mission is partnering to develop transformative conversations that nurture the spirit of family, promote well-being and prevent violence. We do this through the empowered engagement of vulnerable parents, youth, children, and extended family members and our organization is comprised of a passionate, dedicated, diverse team that works in partnership with systems, service providers, and parents. We are seeking a part-time Youth Advisory Program Coordinator to be a part of Be Strong Families’ Youth Advisory Board Team, responsible for implementing a statewide grant working to build strong youth-adult partnerships through advisory boards to advance authentic youth engagement that will educate and empower youth in care to achieve equitable results through the established Statewide and Regional Youth Advisory Board
SYAB Assistant Manager
Directly mentors: N/A
This position is primarily responsible for supporting the Northern Regional Youth Advisory Board and will also be assigned to attend all of the Northern Regional YAB and Statewide YAB meetings.
WORKS CLOSELY WITH:
Central Region Program Manager, Office Manager, Program Assistant, Training and TA Coordinator
YAB Program Coordination Responsibilities:
Support RYAB Officers in planning and implementing Northern Regional Youth Advisory Board (RYAB) and Interactive Leadership Meetings (ILM) meetings
Attend and provide onsite logistical / programmatic support for monthly Northern RYAB Meeting and all SYAB meetings.
Support Assistant Manager and SYAB Executive Officers in planning and implementing quarterly SYAB meetings and annual retreat.
Disseminate and collect all required documentation for Northern RYAB including sign-in sheets, agendas, handouts, pre/post-tests, client satisfaction surveys, and evaluations.
Provide transportation plan and services for Cook and Northern RYAB and SYAB meetings and other statewide activities as assigned (e.g. Shadow Day)
Provide field support services (e.g. print and prepare meeting materials)
Represent DCFS Youth Advisory Board by attending and actively participating in internal advisory councils with youth officers as assigned.
Provide support to RYAB officers in preparing for quarterly SYAB meetings and monthly RYAB meetings.
Understand and assist with meeting and documenting outcomes and metrics as identified in program plan.
Submit monthly progress reports
Participate in check-in meetings with Youth Advisory Board team
Maintain an up-to-date BSF Google calendar with all meetings, events, and conference calls.
Support youth in preparing for all Northern RYAB meetings
Other duties as assigned

Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance for job-related travel as required
Status: Part-Time, Non-Exempt
