TCA Health, Inc. is seeking a creative and detail-oriented individual with exceptional written and verbal communication skills to join our team as the Development Specialist. In general, the Development Specialist will source, evaluate, coordinate and manage grant and other development opportunities that fulfill TCA Health’s goals and objectives to maximize potential and increase the base of support amongst donors, funders and volunteers.
Establish forecasts and prepare evaluations of fundraising potential for development activities by identifying and rating prospects, with special attention given to those prospects having the highest potential.
Develop calendars and action plans for each grant, sponsorship, donor initiative, underwriting program, special events, etc.
Facilitate, review, and edit grant proposals; conduct library and electronic research; compile data; compose letters; maintain confidential files; input and retrieve data via computer
Write and prepare final grant application for submission to state and federal sources.
Communicate regularly with CEO to help project outcome of development initiatives and identify areas of highest concern and priority. Continuously nurture all relationships with community leaders, donors, staff, volunteers, foundations, etc. through personal contacts, newsletters, fundraising events, etc.
Process monthly expense billing for the organization’s contracts (funding sources).
Work with the Accounting Manager to establish, modify and implement grant and accounting procedures, as well as financial controls and systems for grants/programs.
Meet with Program Managers/Directors to evaluate and ensure data collection needs/requirements for grants are met in timely manner.
Monitor progress of meeting of objectives of grants/funding sources.
Monitor compliance with grant contracts and cost principles for non-profit organizations.
Prepare presentations for Board of Directors as instructed by the CEO.

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Public Relations, English, Journalism, Social Services, or Health and Human Services, required.
Minimum of three years’ experience in writing and editing documents, preferably in a health care setting.
Minimum of one year of experience in a development role strongly preferred.
