AUSL (Academy for Urban School Leadership) is a nonprofit school management organization that creates schools of excellence by developing highly effective teachers and transforming educational outcomes for students in the lowest performing schools in Chicago. AUSL’s network includes 31 schools serving 17,000 students. AUSL seeks a highly qualified candidate with keen attention to detail, strong analytical and organizational skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint to perform the role of Manager, Network and Secondary Analytics supporting AUSL’s Director of Performance Analysis and Support.
Leading data reporting to inform AUSL’s strategy to support students transitioning into, through, and out of high school. This is including but not limited to analyses and the creation of data tools to support student preparation (metrics such as on-track, attendance, high school eligibility, and others), to assess fit and match, and to provide updates on college applications, acceptances, and other college-going metrics
Managing and supporting effective use of the various high school data systems and tools to ensure accurate and timely use of data in school decision-making, and facilitating data-driven conversations with high school administrators and teacher leaders to drive school improvement
Working with the Curriculum and Instruction team to analyze the results of high school assessments and execute professional development sessions focused on data-driven instruction
Working closely with the Manager of High School and Postsecondary Supports to both proactively and responsively provide data analysis and tools to support their work developing network-wide systems for postsecondary readiness and success, including alumni supports
Supporting data analysis and visualization on key metrics, including with school and Network leadership, community members, funders, and AUSL board members
Additional team support for the Department of Performance Analysis and Support, as needed
Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science, Public Policy, or related field; Master’s Degree preferred
3-5 years of experience in a related field or role
Data analysis and visualization skills – strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint a must
Familiarity with statistical analysis platforms – Stata, R, Tableau, etc.- useful but not required
Presentation and group facilitation skills/experience desired
Superior organizational/project management skills and attention to detail
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities, combined with a “Can Do, Will Do” approach
Ability to communicate and build trusting relationships with a broad cross-section of stakeholders
Experience working in a high school or college-focused organization a plus
The position is a full-time, year-round position. No overnight travel is required, but frequent travel to AUSL schools is expected; all work takes place at various AUSL schools in the city of Chicago. The main work location for this position is 55 W Cermak, Chicago.
