CEDA currently seeking a Grant Accountant to perform accounting and finance activities related to government and privately funded grants; prepares grant draws, complex internal and external financial/budgetary reports requiring independent judgment, knowledge of not for profit accounting , policies and regulation of various federal, state and local funding agencies.
Prepares/Reviews requests for funds from grantor agencies.
Reconciles and monitors grant receivables and pursues unpaid billings.
Monitors grant expenses to ensure expenditures remain within budgets and minimize unallowable charges.
Reconciles request for funds (i.e. draws) to the General Ledger
Prepares monthly financial reports (budget vs. actual) for grants.
Meets with Program personnel on a routine basis to ensure proper accounting and transparency.
Analyzes and provide explanations for grant budget variances.
Prepares monthly grant reports to funders (e.g. DCEO, HHS, etc.)
Closes-out grants on a timely basis.
Maintain web-based and other links to all applicable granting agencies.
Assists with annual independent audit as needed.
Provides financial support for preparation of grant submissions.
Assists in preparation of annual agency and grant budgets, including budget to actual analysis as well as periodic budget modifications;
Assists with the monthly accounting close, including reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
Tracks program related fixed assets
Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience
Experience in not for profit accounting and administration of government grants
Strong organizational, administrative, and time management skills
Ability to work under pressure in a deadline oriented environment. Ability to satisfy divergent interests in support of broader strategic goals of the Agency
Working knowledge of government grant-making rules and regulations, including federal Uniform Guidance and GATA.
