The International Financial Analyst works directly with the leadership team in our fast-paced and mission-driven environment. The International Financial Analyst works with the foundation’s largest grant donor’s including USAID and other international development agencies. The International Financial Analyst will be responsible for end to end accounting operations effectively completely assigned deadlines. The International Financial Analyst establishes and maintains financial responsibilities for the work of organizations and associated projects.
Performing accounting entries and maintaining firm records.
Preparation and review of tax returns and various US and International tax filings.
Research various tax issues. Informed of tax law changes.
Work in an efficient manner in order to meet all deadlines and budget timelines
Reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts and monthly bank reconciliations.
Reconcile monthly project accounts and maintain the fixed asset system.
Perform monthly financial close.
Perform monthly analytical review of P&L and operational variances.
Generating financial statements according to GAAP standards.
Developing, documenting and implementing accounting policies and procedure.
Working with the leadership team to identify key operating metrics, then preparing these reports and forecasts to help drive the business
Provide quarterly progress reports to board members, reflecting efforts of both, the Nairobi and US Offices
Provide leadership, working along with the President and assisting partners with establishing and maintaining a strong focus on the current “on-the-ground” international projects.
Assist in building sustainability for the current project, establishing benchmarks and conducting evaluations on project progress, providing metrics and measurements along with all other pertinent information.

Minimum of 3-4 years in international accounting
Education - Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent of some other demonstration of a uniquely impressive academic record, showing consistent success in performing alongside the best and brightest. Track record of working with contracts, agreements and/or grants.
Proven track record with developing the budget/narrative for grant proposals.
Assisting International Development Strategist with grant proposals.
Challenged and energized at work with strong skills in non-profit which reflect a potential for growth and development of skills in the for-profit sector are a requirement for this position.
