Mobile outreach workers act as portal for immediate access to mental health services for individuals in acute distress. Such individuals may be those already receiving services at the center, or those in need of immediate intervention to avert a mental health crisis. This mobile worker will join the team created by the North Township Trustee to link homeless veterans to needed services and housing assistance. Must be skilled at diagnostic interviewing, emergency assessment and crisis intervention.
Ensure that assessments for suicide/and homicide potential are completed and make recommendations regarding the needed level of care. Will consult with agency psychiatrists to formulate crisis plans and make determinations regarding the need for hospitalization whether voluntary or by emergency detention orders. The need for health and social service referrals will be assessed and appropriate referrals provided or made for the client and the client’s family.
Shift: 5 days per week , 8 hours per day, usual business hours, but will be available if needed for evening and/or weekend events.
