The Accounting Manager is responsible for financial reporting for the agency and supervision of professional accounting staff. This position provides leadership to the Finance Team and supports the agency regarding financial matters. Networking and involvement in professional accounting organizations is encouraged and supported. QUALIFICATIONS: * Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required; CPA preferred. * Proficient in AICPA accounting standards. * High proficiency in the use of computers, accounting software applications, MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. * Minimum of five years experience with accounting functions and operations. * Minimum of two years supervisory experience.
POSITIION RESPONSIBILITIES: * Select, train, supervise, and evaluate direct reports to ensure effective performance within the guidelines of agency policies and procedures. * Manage and prepare the financial statements for Sertoma Centre. This will include preparing and entering journal entries, completing the monthly financial package, variance analysis/explanations, and follow-up on significant variances. * Enter the agency's cost allocation plan data into the accounting software. * Generate month-end financial reports, including cost center reporting and assuring reconciliation. * Maintain the fixed asset records of the Agency. * Approve Accounts Payable vouchers prior to data entry in accounting software and manage for correct account coding on invoices. * Assist the Associate Director of Finance and IT with the annual financial audit work papers and cost reports required by funding agencies. * Manage Accounts Payable process to include cash requirements for vendor payments and approving check runs. * Oversee the preparation of grants reporting and budgets as needed. * Maintain financial reports in General Ledger Accounting System. * Maintain G/L accounts and cost centers in General Ledger Accounting System. * Maintain users and licenses in General Ledger Accounting System.
