The Direct Marketing Specialist plays a key role on the team to ensure seamless execution of brand aligned, compelling Direct Marketing campaigns that meet organizational fundraising performance and donor engagement goals. Manages creative review process and library of assets utilized in online and offline campaigns.
Plays a key role in the timely and accurate execution of direct marking efforts including mail appeals, newsletters, and stewardship pieces. Guides campaigns from concept to completion. Actively participates in strategy discussions with agencies, reviews creative briefs, mockups, and audience select documentation.
Manages project timelines, schedules and task lists, facilitates weekly production status meeting, communicates campaign information to partners and other teams as needed, and ensures online forms are correctly implemented for integrated fundraising.
Contributes creative ideas, edits content as needed, and effectively communicates message points and our vision to agencies for execution.
Manages all day to day aspects of telemarketing, which is a core-channel of the monthly giving program. This includes working with the telemarketing vendor on scripts, letters, and chaser emails as well as backend processes essential to accurate reporting on telemarketing efforts.
Coordinates with communications team on photo, story, and video collection efforts to capture compelling assets for use in online and offline campaigns. Collaborates closely with agencies and the internal team to ensure alignment on resource collection priorities, works with freelance photographers and outside writers as needed and may involve occasional travel to food banks and agencies for interviews and photo sessions.
Manages department style guide and resources that are utilized in both online and offline channels. Ensures all direct mail artwork meets Feeding America rules and guidelines including brand standards, photo and story expiration, and efficiency statements. Keeps department resources updated and ensures team members and vendors are informed about new resources such as fact sheets and assets from trips to collect stories on the people served by the network. Coordinates with other departments as needed to gather resources necessary for specific appeals such as state by state hunger data.
Serves as the department's point person with the internal review team. Distributes campaign copy to internal routing list, reviews and consolidates feedback from all reviewers to provide clear and concise direction to partners before the campaign production is finalized. Maintains positive working relationships with all partners.
Handles scheduling and set-up for department wide and partner meetings.

3-5 years professional experience in an office environment. Administrative, project management, and marketing exposure is a plus.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a strong sense of meeting deadlines and follow-up.
Aptitude to prioritize project load and collaborate with manager on reprioritizing workload appropriately.
Ability to manage up and across different staff levels to bring projects to completion.

Excellent verbal/written communication skills and an eye for detail when proofreading.
Proficiency in all Microsoft Office application. Exposure to fundraising databases and online fundraising tools a plus.
Interest in direct marketing creative strategy, production processes and backend tracking processes.
