The Medical Billing Manager is responsible for the daily activities of the billing office, oversees the billing clerks, reconciles third-party payments, runs monthly reports, ensures that all accounts balance, work with denied claims, reconciles daily receipts, ensures that payments and claims are submitted in a timely manner and other managerial duties.
Oversees the day-to-day operations of the billing department to ensure accuracy, chart coding and billing process.
In charge of escalated customer disputes and are expected to resolve them.
Run reports monthly to ensure that the accounts are balances.
Run reports for Practice Administrator.
Provides billing information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing third-party billings, accounts pending, and late charges data and trends.
Submit claims, perform appeals and resubmit denied claims.
Track and resolve billing discrepancies.
Follow up on delinquent accounts and ensure payment where possible.
Ensures processing of payments from various payers’ sources are completed in a timely manner.
Ensure that medical billing clerks are performing accurate data entry services.
Manage the selection, training and development of the billing department staff.
Prepare reports and perform analysis of billing documents.
Resolves billing issues by discussing contract with third-party payer.
Facilitate process improvement to maximize reimbursement.
Ensure that the appropriate billing codes are being used for patients visits.
Manage accounts receivable reports.
Oversee and audit billing systems and activities to ensure accuracy.
Oversee patients’ billing statements to ensure accuracy of information.
