Job Summary: As a Staff Therapist, you will be a part of the multidisciplinary team providing individual, couples and/or group therapy to a diverse population. The Staff therapist will work with individuals/families with behavioral, mental and/or emotional problems that may interfere with their daily lives and help develop client and/or family centered therapeutic treatment goals to support client success.
Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:
Provides individual, family and group therapy to a caseload of clients determined by program needs.
Utilizes best practice methods of assessment to formulate accurate diagnosis and treatment goals to best serve clients.
Completes/Updates Mental Health Assessments (MHA), Individual Recovery Plans (IRP), progress notes, assessments and all other required clinical documentation as required by agency policy, accreditation standards and/or funding requirements.
Assesses and stabilizes high risk individuals and/or families.
Links clients to other services outside the scope of the Agency and acting as advocate for clients with external service providers as needed.
Responds to clients and/or family needs outside of regularly scheduled session times.
Building effective working relationships with referral sources, i.e., police department, school, and other social service agencies.
Monitors and supports services provided by psychiatrist.
Promoting access to services by working a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the community. Evening and Saturday availability is required.
Adheres to professional standards as outlined by governmental bodies, NASW Code of Ethics (and/or other appropriate professional associations), private funding sources and Organization policies.
Other duties as assigned
Master’s Degree in a related mental health field.
Clinical Licensure (LCPC or LCSW) required.
Treatment skills in the areas of mental health assessment, treatment plan development and individual, family and group counseling with youth and adults.
Demonstrated ability to engage individuals, youth and families.
Ability to work with multi cultural clients.
