The role of the Cook is to prepare well-balanced and nutritious meals for the people supported at the Specialized Living Center. The Cook meets all regulatory requirements as set forth by the Illinois Department of Health and the DuPage County Health Department. The Cook is expected to uphold the Mission and Values of the Association.
Ensures food for individuals is prepared and delivered according to standardized recipes and dietary/nutritional needs set forth by the dietician.
Observes meal delivery in homes one time each week to confirm satisfaction of people supported and proper delivery and attractive presentation.
Reports any unsafe or unhealthy conditions immediately to the Assistant Director of Program Supports. Reports all IDPH reportable incidents to the Assistant Director of Customized Supports.
Checks foo temperatures daily and records on log sheets.
Assist with quality control to assure the highest quality of food is produced.
Maintains proper communication with outside vendors.
High School Diploma/GED
Food Handler and Sanitation Certification
Must successfully complete and pass all Background checks and pre-employment Drug screen.
1 year of job related experience required
2-5 years of job related experience preferred.
Days/Hours: Sunday- Thursday; 5:30 am- 2 pm
